Next Fresh Start "Surgery Weekend", July 25th & 26, 2009

  "Surgery Weekend" takes place every seven to eight weeks with
  coordinated volunteer support of over 100 medical and
  non-medical volunteers.

  During Surgery Weekend, a team of dedicated medical volunteers,
  including highly skilled physicians and nurses, medical
  technicians, and support staff donate their time and expertise
  to provide disadvantaged children with the highest quality
  medical services and on-going care.

  A typical Surgery Weekend involves approximately 10-15 major
  surgeries, multiple minor surgeries, laser treatments, and 25-30
  multi-specialty patient evaluations. We also provide speech
  therapy and dental treatments.

  We invite interested volunteers to contact the Fresh Start
  Volunteer Coordinator, Mimi Askew at 760-448-2021 or at
  mimi@freshstart.org. Surgeries are planned months in advance.
  You must apply to be accepted as a patient in order to receive
  Fresh Start services.
